15th Century Handgunners

Last weekend I at last managed to paint some Handgunners that have been up at my painting table for a long while...

This will represent german mercenarys in service of a Swedish noblemen that can´t affort the latest equipment.

They might be used as light artillery to, as there is said that the Swedes deployed artillery in forest terrain...I find it not likely that they managed to deploy and make good use of a ordinary gun in the forest terrain, but the use of some heavyer Hand guns would find their way in to the historical accounts... Have to look closer in to that question...

The minis are from Perry miniatures.
