Here comes some pictures of the finished dismounted Nyland Dragoons I been working on for my Finnish War 1808-1809 project. Their mounted counterparts are also in progress...
The Swedes had some great Finnish units in their ranks, both during the 30 Years War, but more notably during the Great Northern War were you see the Nyland horse regiment save the encircled Swedish Guards at Poltava by a self-sacrificial charge right into the numerically superior Russians. However, the wars against Russia were not only fought in Finland, but also the Baltics, Russia and even in Sweden were there was a battle right outside Stockholm at Stäket. But I tip my hat to the courage of the Finns, proven many times in history.
