Viking Warband for SAGA

Here are some pictures of my startes Viking Warband for SAGA, 4 points...now I´m of to 6 points ;)

Viking Warriors

The last part of my 4 point Viking Warband for SAGA are two groups of Warriors or Bondis as they call them...

SAGA Dice

The SAGA Dice are still "currently out of stock" and I waiting for my order of Viking dice... I think you lose some of the feel for the game then you use ordinary D6 as we have so far...

So I have started to make my own SAGA Dice to use untill the real and expensive stuff arrive:)

The Indented Blank Dice are from "Blank Dice" :)

And the Stickers I made my self using the Dice pictures on the SAGA forum and Photoshop...

If you want to print your own set of dice sticker you can download the file at our club forum, but you need to create a account, the question you will be asked in swdish, but here are a translation: How wrote the DBA rules?

Now we can try out SAGA in the right way:)

Berserkers...

Jarl Eirik have of course some toadstool eating Berserkers in he´s Hird...

The red shield will have a repaint...

Heathguard 1

The first part of Jarl Eirik´s Heathguard are ledd by he´s brother Ivar, that like he´s brother prefer to cruch Anglo-Danish shieldwalls with he´s large DaneAx:)

Jarl Eirik Gunnarsson

The latest week I have painted for my SAGA Viking Warband, here are some pictures of my Warlord Jarl Eirik Gunnarsson.

The minis are from Gripping Beast, a plastic one that have become "Stambo" or Marksmen that carrys tha Jarls Raven Banner.

The Jarl himself have been turned around so the looter wasen´t in the foreground of the base and he got a new larger Daneax from the plastik kit, i hope you like him and that he´s enemys don´t:)

SAGA

At last have my copy of the SAGA rules arrived:)

I will be up late tonight reading throug the rule book, and tomorrow I will start to base my newly painted Viking Warband...

More Kalmar Union War Knights

Sorry for not posting to much lately...to mych at work and at home...

I have continued to paint Knights for my Kalmar Union War Project, Here are a small unit under Command of Arvid Birgersson of the House of Trolle.

SAGA

I have had a chanse to try out the new Dark Ages skirmish game SAGA. Here are a short AAR and some pictures...

We only had minis for two 3 point armys, but it worked out fine anyway. I commanded the Vikings and my friend Andy commanded the Anglo-Danish.

OOB Anglo-Danish Warband
1x Thegn warlord “Knut the Dane” with a Two handed axe
1x4 Huscarls with Two handed axes

OOB Viking Warband
1x Jarl ”Eirik the Viking”
1x4 Hird
1x4 Berserks
1x8 Bondi

Deplyment...

The Anglo-Danish huscarls with two handed axes charged the Viking hirdmen...and was killed to the last men...

Knut the Dane had to take care of business him self...

If you are a warloard it´s good to have some comrades around that can be sacrifice if the Warloard recives to many wonds...

Thanks to the supporting Hirdmen Eirik managed to deffeated Knut and won a costly victory, lose all his Hird, Bersearks and half the Bondis...

Was a nice game and I suppouse it will be even funniet then you learn to use all the Battleboard opptions in the right way.

First game in Hel

Last week I ans Stewe had a first frial game in our fantasy setting "Hel" we used tha Song for Blades and Heroes rules. I only got these 2 pictures as the memory card to my camera was full...

The 2 warband was my Order Knights vs. Hel and her followers...

It was a realy nice game and the rules worked fine.

I didn´t use the ordinary stats for the Zombies as they then only activate on 6+ and that is to frustrating to not get them to do anything turn after turn... so they activated on 4+ but was only allowed one move action each turn, worked realy nice...not realy as I lost the game...
