Below some last minute shots from Jan and the terrain build, this year he also have had the time to paint the renowed "Dalregiment" from Jan and mine  Swedish home region Dalecarlia.

Swedish Camp 1719

Jast a week left for Salute 2018... Made me a Swedish camp for our Salute  game "Battle at Stäket 1719. most minis from a perry AWI camp set.

Star Wars Legion

Yes i´m on that bandwagon to :) Got me a starter box of the Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars Legion and have painted the 33 minis during the last week. It is really nice minis, large 34mm, made of some softer kind of plastic.

Today I and my son david had our first test game to learn the rules, David was in command of Luke Skywalker and I had 2 groups of 4 Stormtroopers and one group of 2 Speeder Bikes, about 200 point each. a regular game are said to be 800 point and the minis in the starter box will prowide about 400 point, at least for the Empire if they field Darth Vader.

Luke was destine to hold out for 6 game turns in the desert outpost and the Empire was ordered to take down the rebell. The basic of the rules are quite easy, remember a bit of x-wings, at least I used these rules as a reference for David to learn, and a fast learner he is... after 3 turns he had slaughtered one of the Storm trober groups with his Light saber, cut down the Speeders, as well as he played a "Jedai Mind Trick" on my second Stormtrooper unit that was paniced and very close to the table edge so they legged it...

Was a fun and entertaining game, very nice that a lone character could defeate several units of goons, I have learned to hold the distance to the Light Sabers... we will defenatly play more.

Explosion markers and more casualties for Salute 2018

I have painted some more casualties for our salute game "Battle at Stäket 1719", both Swedish and Russian this time.

I also tried out to make me some explosion markers to represent the heavy bombardment the Russians troops experienced from the Swedish galleys. Thanks to Jay for an exellent explosion marker tutorial.

1st Batalion Södermanands regiment 1719

1st batalion of the Swedish Södermanlands Regiment finished for our salute 2018 demo game, Battle of Stäket 1719. Jesper are in the progress of painting the 2nd batalion.

The batalion are composed of 1x6 Forlorn Hope (command and colour platoon) and 4x12 Shot (musketeer companies) in total 54 minis.

The Kings new Clothes

The King have got new clothes or at least some paint. Got the stunning minis, from my matey Sören at Eagle of Empire miniatures, of the Swedish King 1523-1560, Gustav Eriksson, House of Vasa some weeks ago, painted it right away but havent taken any pictures untill now. I choose to paint inspired by the Carl Larsson painting that inspired to the mini in it self.
