17th century Matchlockmen for the Pikeman´s Lament
This is the first minis I painted in 2 month, starting to get some inspiration back...
The minis are a mix of warlord Plastic Musketeers and matchlockmen as well as the matchlock box command minis and the special mini you got with the Pike and Shot rulebook.
For the Pikeman´s Lament rules they will either be used as a unit of 12 Shot or as 2 units of 6 Forlorn Hope.

Great work Michael, excellent faces!
ReplyDeleteThese look great Michael.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteLovely work as always Michael. My painting mojo has been particularly poor this year and especially of late:(
ReplyDeleteNice work
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work - the blues almost seem to glow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!

Beautiful work Michael!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back in action again.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you ought to check out the uppcoming releases from Fireforge... That uppcoming infantry-kit is, according to a reply to a post on their Facebook page, also supposed to get a accompagning knight kit somrtimes in the future... :)
Nice work / Colors
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you back in action Dalaupror. I guess we will se more The Pikeman's Lament stuff as the release draws near?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Fireforge are going to release a set of 25 Plastic Scandinavian Infantry. There are rumours of Scandinavian Knights and the rumours also speak of a Fireforge Birger Jarl table at Salute as well... :)
Indeed more about The Pikemans´s lament after new year in time for the release, got to get you all to buy a copy;)
DeleteVery exiting about the FireForge plans as I have been involved. Infantry indeed and there might be a Knight box to as well as a Birger Jarl miniature, but as far as I know no Birger jarl game by Fire Forge at salute, if there isnt any club running one.
I and Jan will ofcourse be running a Pikeman´s Lament game:)
Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been painting much lately either since most of my time has been spent re-basing individually mounted figures to your 3-2-1 basing system. This has been time well spent in my opinion.
Thanks.
Deletehaha...sorry for giving you ideeas about your basing and forcing you in to a re-basing project;)
Glad that you liked the result:)
Är det hos Warlord man ska leta för att hitta figurer i plast till Pikeman´s Lament? Finns det fler tillverkare?
ReplyDeleteIf you way to game Polish Wars, TYW or ECW the Warlord minis are Greate, i realy like their plastics an all the conversions possibilitys.
DeleteIf you get your self a Starter Batalia you Will have enough minis for 2 24 point Companies for The Pikeman's Lament.

Well, Revell, Zvezda and Mars have 1:72 scale (is that 20mm?) plastics for that era. I can't speak for the quality tough. They are a bit smaller than 28 of course...
ReplyDeleteWargames Factory / now Dreaforge Games produce, or at least produced some 28mm plastic kits that are usable for the Scanian War. (You might need to make some conversions to make kapurse-hats for some of the troops tough... I guess Warlord's Pike & Shotte infantry makes for good Scanian WarSnapphanar...
Crackin' work on these Michael!
ReplyDeleteExcellent as always - said it before, but your blog is an education, in the best sense of the word!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Evan for your kind works, appreciated !
DeleteOutstanding work once again Michael! I'm quite impressed by the way you manage to convey a rather rag tag look to your miniatures while still tying them together as a unit.
