Perry napoleonics...should work as Swedes...

Seems like Perry bros. have some Napoleonic Danes 1807-1814 in the pipeline and the ones dated 1807 seems to be able to fit as Swedes from 1808/09 at least the hat seems right, will need to have a closer look, but for now I have hope to re-start my Finnish War project:)

  1. I got an email about these chaps and they look good. I fear they might be a little slender to use with the Eagle figures I have already of 1807 Danes. Nevertheless they are so tempting...

  2. Shouldn't need too many changes to work as Swedish troops. I wonder if they'll end up doing Swedes as well now that they seem to be going through all the smaller nations.

  5. Looking at some uniform plates they look pretty spot on, definitely good enough to fool anyone not into the fine detail. The coat is the same length, the strap going across the chest is right, boot length looks appropriate, and of course the hat. The backpacks look different, but that's minor. Now I'm not going to start napoleonics in 28mm but as a Russo-Swedish War 1808 fanatic I would definitely consider doing a vignette :)

    1. Thanks for checking them Mikko. I hope the Perrys will make dedicate Swedes for 1808. Or I just use the inspiration to start build more of the ones I already have...

  6. They look Swedish enough to me, but given my knowledge of the napoleonic wars...

Given that Perry seems determined to make every single nation of the Napoleonic wars is it not too unlikely if the boys in blue march into the fray in the future...

Hät made Napoleonic Swedes when I last checked, but I am unsure about the scale...

    1. There are some options in different scales but the quality varies wildly. Getting the Perry Bros to do them properly would be a dream come true for a small group.

  8. I was fortunate to be able to attend some of the demo games hosted by the gentlemen gamers of kaisaniemi during the anniversary: http://www.the-ancients.com/gemigabok/suomen-sota-1808-1809/ Also, I live on top of the Savonian front of the war and one ambush was fought about a kilometer from my house :)

  9. They look great and could probably be painted as Swedes after some modifications. I still hope for Swedes though. And while dreaming I hope that if (when!) they make Swedes for early Napoleonic war they make skirmishing/firing line Swedes instead of march attack. That work better for the Finland (or Norway!) forrests or the small scale actions of swedish pommerania.
Swedes for the 1813-14 campaign would probably be more usable in march attack.
Great if you got your 1808-09 project going again!
