Birger Jarl miniature from Fire Forge

As you surely know Fire Forge game has released a box with plastic Scandinavian Ledung Infantry as a part of theat release they also released a Resin cast mini of the Swedish Hero and Founder of the Swedish capital Stockholm, Birger Jarl.

Birger Magnusson from the house of Bjälbo was  Jarl/Earl of Sweden from 1248 untill his death in 1266. From 1250 he was  regent of Sweden with his son Valdemar Birgersson that was elected King of Sweden in 1250.

I painted the mini on a command base with one of the Plastic Ledung infantry minis.

Fire Forge Plastic Scandinavian Infantry

It is so very nice to see that something you have contributed to will be released, as in the upcoming Fire Forge plastic Scandinavian Crusader Infantry, a multi component plastic set that enables you to build 25 post-viking scandinavian infantrymen, i.e Ledung infantry.

I was fortunate to be asked to help Fire Forge out with ideeas and information about Scandinavian ledung soldiers for new heads, weapons, shields etc for this kit. we even had a "secret" planing meet at Salute 2016 :)

The aim are that they will be released in April 2017 in time for Salute 2017.

Below are some work in progress pictures of the 3-ups.

Building some Fire Forge Russians

As you might remember I got me a few of the new Fire Forge Plastic Russian Infantry as well as some of their Resine casts that I havent got around doing anything with yet...

I havent had any inspiration for painting or building minis the last month or so, it was a long time ago I didnt paint for a whole month...

So I thought that I had to build me some more Medieval Russians for my Baltic Crusade project to get me back on track again...

About the Plastic Russian Infantry, I really like them, they are perfect to mix up with the Gripping Beast Vikings to get Eastern looking Vikings.

FireForge Plastic Russian pre-casts

I just had to share some pictures of the pre-cast Fire Forge Games plastic Medieval Russian I got in the post today.

Really lovely minis and they will work perfect for my Baltic Crusade project, greate casts made by Renedra. a bit of plastic to clean of on some hands but as they are pre-casts I won´t worry about the quality of the final product. I can see a lot of converssion possibilities in the kit and I´ll start more or less right away to build me some for a future blog post:)

FireForge Medieval Russian Reinforcements

At Salute I got some of the latest Fire Forge resin cast for their Medieval Russian range.

FFG - 140 Alexander Nevsky
FFG - 141 Russian Infantry Command
FFG - 152 Chernyeklobuki Command (Black Hoods)
FFG - 153 Chernyeklobuki with Bows (Black Hoods)
FFG - 154 Chernyeklobuki with Lances (Black Hoods)

Very nice sculpt minis and I´m most impressed of the resin banner that was included in the Infantry Command, we will see how hard they are to paint...

Now I eagerly awaits the release of the Plastic Russian soldiers that should be here during the summer I hope.

Below are some close-ups of the minis in each pack:
