#3 - King Gustav I of Sweden 1523 - WIP

One more update on th 28mm mini of the Swedish King Gustav I Eriksson from the House of Vasa that my matey Sören, that runs the Eagle of Empire miniatures, has decided to let
eBob miniatures make. Below some pictures of the stunning minis, might be some details left.

The mini are based on a painting from a 1909 painting by the famous Swedish painter Carl Larsson, the painting are made in true nationalistic style.

The Carl Larsson painting are 7 meter by 14 meter and have been displayed at the "Nationalmuseum"Swedish art and design Museum, but the museum has been closed for Renovation for some years and will be re-opened in the autum of 2018.

The painting are depicting when King Gustav Vasa enters the Swedish capital Stockholm after he have won the Swedeish war of Liberationin 1523. But the arms and armour that painter Carl larson have depicted the King in was an armour made by Kunz Lochner in Nürnberg in 1540.

You might have noticed the helmet the King has in his hand, that to are assumed to have been made by Kunz Lochner in Nürnberg in 1540, as well as at least one more helmet that was delivered at the same time, there was also one or two one and a half handed Swords (132cm long) delivered to the King, and it was most probably never used in combat. The armour and helmets are keept at the Swedish Armoury at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

#2 - King Gustav I of Sweden 1523 - WIP

Here comes short update on th 28mm mini that looks like the Swedish King Gustav I Eriksson from the House of Vasa that my matey Sören, that runs the Eagle of Empire miniatures, has decided to let
eBob miniatures make. Here a picture of the latest progress.

As you might notice the King have a special haircut that we nowardays call "Gustav Vasa Frisyr" (Gustav Vasa Haircut) here in Sweden.

It might have been popular back in the 16th century, but not as much nowardays even as some people call i the "Dalmas haircut" (Dalecarlian Haircut). I can garantee that I, even as I´m from the dalecarlia region, never have had a Dalicarlian Haircut.

Some Examples of "Gustav Vasa Haircut/Dalecarlian Haircut", firt is a cut from a Painting of the King 1540.

Prussian Infantry - Franco-Prussian War

I planned to post these pictures about a week ago but was interupted by a phone call... my son David and my wife had been in a severe car accident, some dude thought it was a good ideea to skip a stop sign, so my wife and son hit his car right in the side in 90km/hour...

I have spent the last week at the hospital with my Son thant got the most severe injuries of the two. My beloved wife got a fracture in her foot and ofcours a real beating by the crach, David broke an arm, fractured a finger on the other arm, got face damages, fractured jaw, 3 teeths dislocated, a minor damage on the liver and a general beateing by the crach so he had to have intensive care and several operations fixing his arm, teths, the liver damage they had under observation for a week and there was no need for surgery..

It seems like we can go home from the hospital tomorrow, he are bored so I guess he is recovered quiet well considering all damages.

I´m so glad they survived at all in that speed.

Eagle of Empire infantry rulebook out now as .pdf

My matey Sören has just released his Eagle of Empire rule, Rulebook 1: Infantry Skirmish dedicated to support his 28mm Franco-Prussian war miniature range.

The rules are avaliable in .PDF file at the moment in the EoE webb shop.

Even if i´m a bit bias I must say Sören made a great work on the rules, they give fun, fast and intence games, especially the layout of them, looks great.

Some side spread samples below.

Empire of Eagle also started a collaboration with North Star Miniatures and have just released a fist box with North Star Franco-Prussian War minis in the Prussian Jägers box of 2 squads.

Boxed set of 16 Prussian Jägers, with 12 skirmishing action poses and 4 command figures incl. bugler, officer and troop card.

Recognised by their special shakos and dark green uniforms, the Jäger units were the elite light infantry of the Prussian army during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71.

In the Eagles of Empire Rules, the Jägers will feature some expert firing abilities, keeping the French advance at bay with their marksmanship.
