Håtunaleken, Lion Rampant, AAR #6

We had our 6th game in the Håtunaleken club project some week ago, I had set up two tables as it was expected several participants, but in the end we was only 6 players, we still used the two tables and putted them together to a 120x360cm table... and we run 2 scenarios at the same time...the defender in one was the attacker in the other... It was a quite fun approach and turned out really well, but the table was a bit to whide... next time same approach but on a 120x180 table....

The 2 Scenarios was first Scenarion C: The Fugetive, as The Rebell brothers had to find Valdemar that had escaped sins last scenario there he was captured by the King Birger and the second was Scenario F: Sausages with mustard, this was played as a de-coy attack from the Rebell Brothers to make it easier to rescue Valdemar.

I won´t give you a full AAR, was no chanse to keep track of all events, and I just got abunch of unsharp pictures.. sorry, I still hope you get a feel for the game.

OOB´s

The Rebell Brothers:

House of Bjälbo (Valdemar), Top left
1x6 Mounted Knights
1x12 Foot Serjants with Mixed weapons

House of Bjälbo (Erik), Middle left
1x6 Mounted serjants
1x6 Mounted Crossbow
1x12 Crossbowmen

House of Algotssönerna, Bottom left

House of Tre Rosor, Middle right
1x6 Foot Knights
1x12 Foot Serjants with Mixed weapons

House of Bjälbo (King Birger), Bottom right
1x6 Foot Knights
1x12 Foot Serjants with Mixed weapons

The houses to be burnt in Scenario F: Sausages with mustard...

Six small forests to valdemar to hide in Scenarion C: The Fugetive

Trolle sent his Biddowers to support in the defence of the small farm...

The Kings Foot Serjants with Mixeded Weapons troes to protect the farm...

The House of Algotson arn´t just good bride robbers they do arson to ;)

To fast Erik of the House of Bjälbo found his escaped Brother and could bring him to safety...

The fight continued around the farm...

Fighting about the farm...

Several of the units that was looking for Valdemar now started to move to help out by the farm...

But first the Trolle Foot Serjants manaded to lure Valdemar´s knight  in to the forest for a small picknick...

Foot Serjants from the House of Tre Rosor crosses the bridge to help out by the farm...

House of Algotsönerna ravaged the farm...playing with matches

Also the House of Trolle Knights made an swift advance to protect the farm...

It all ended quite bad for the Kings men once again... only saveing one of the houses in the farm...

It was a nice game but a little to long distances, try the same concept of mixing scenarios but on a smaler table.

  4. Good to see the king could make it even though I couldn't ... ;)

Seriously though, excellent looking game and it looks like a lot of fun! Too bad the king's men lost yet again. Maybe we have to pay one of the rebels to join our cause?

  10. Fantastic looking game Michael! The pic where the Tre Rosor sergeants cross the bridge is just great. The high contrast of yellow against dark blue makes it stand out.
