Needed some Russian Grenadiers too... These units are made up of all sort of long coated minis... french, russians from crimean war etc. they all go Russian Grenadier caps and it in the end turned out good enought, for me at least, sorry if i upset any uniformhearts... :)
Also some mounted officers/commanders on 40mm round bases.
These minis have been re-based and to some degree re-painted as Jaegers, wanted all my jaegers in a more Skirmish look and I also just based 4 minis on each base to show the looser formation and distinguish them from the line infantry. I also made me 4 bases of Skirmishing jaegers. All (I think) minis from Brigade Games.
Next up are 2 battalions of Russian line infantry, these are just re-based (50x40mm bases) and I will have to paint me some more, at least 2 more Battalions of them.
Next up in my re-basing frensy, this time I actually had to paint 8 minis to get full units, are the swedish Uppland Regiment, 1st and 2nd Batallion. Each Batallion are 28 minis on 7 bases (50x40mm) the 2 flank bases (with only 2 minis on each) represent the 2 Jaeger platoons each Swedish regiment had (the men to the Jaeger platoons was the most agile and best shooter in the 4 companies of each batallion) they should protect the flanks of the Batallion or skirmish ahead.
The minis are Perrys but most of them are not from their Swedish range but their British in egypt as I painted the main part of these units before the release of the Perry Swedish range. They are painted i blue coats as the Uppland Regiment used re-sewn m/1802 so they would look like the m/1806 uniform.
Also made me 2 colours for the Uppland Regiment, 1st Batallion had one white (Kings colours) and one read (company colours) and the 2nd Batallion had two red ones.
First units to get their new shiny bases done was two small units for a landing party from Armensflotta (The Swedish Archipelago Fleet) and the Russian Grodno Hussars. Next up are the 1st and 2nd batallion of the Uppland Regiment.
Started with an easy one, re-basing wise, the Russian Grodno Hussars, have all minis I need so no odd ones to paint up to get the units ready.
I built and painted these for an article in WSS Issue 86 that was a Napoleonic themed issue and I had an article about the Finnish War mainly for Sharp Practice II.
Now I will re-base them, 3 minis with 50mm front and 64mm depth (the odd depth as I will use Flame of War sized bases for my cavalry and Artillery, the Infantry will be on 50mm with a depth of 40mm)
