Indeed a very nice and quick game even with 4 players. The rules worked fine and all participants seemed to have a really good time.
We used one activation card for each of the 4 hoasts and draw a randome card to determin which hoast should be allowed to try to activate, worked really good.
That is one gorgeous table! Fantastic looking game too
ReplyDeleteWhat a great report and an amazing looking table!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking table as usual and it looks like a really fun game indeed!
ReplyDeleteBut must you torment me with posts like these when you know I can't join in on the fun? ;)
Rhaaaa, your tables are so awesome !
ReplyDeleteExcellent. High marks for terrain and miniatures, especially for civilians and livestock.
ReplyDeleteI notice all four retinues were identical – is that recommended or would a more varied OOB, at least per each side, work as well or maybe better?
Thanks !
DeleteI choose to use identical hoasts for all four player as they was quite new to the rules. I would say that the game would benefit by more varied OOB:)
Great report and fantastic looking game Michael!
ReplyDeleteGreat Medieval game and scenery.
ReplyDeleteWonderful looking game! Love your terrain, and lovely figures too, of course.
ReplyDeleteAn awesome looking table and a good AAR!

DeleteThat is an amazing table and AAR, Michael. A lot of work but boy, it sure looks great!
ReplyDeleteVery appreciated comment Monty !
DeleteGreat report, How do you treat the hang gunners differently then normal Bidowers?
ReplyDeleteThanks !
DeleteThe Handgunnes was used as ordinary bidowers as they have the same battlefield function. I jnow Dan had some special rules for them in the playtest but we decided to lit them out of the finished rules, you can find the Handgonnes rules on boradgamegeek: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1223592/optional-rule-handgonnes
Thank you.
DeleteAnd its probably for the best that they didn't keep them in the rules. Considering the game is more 'representative".
Even with the shock of the first time hearing a gun shot, you will get used to it soon. Especially if they miss! :D
Fantastic AAR. I need to try this ruleset!
ReplyDeleteJust an excellent looking game Michael!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Really nice table! The livestock and civilians definitely bring extra flavour to a setting that already captures the feeling of historical Swedish combat.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for inviting Jocke and myself to the event and for running the game. It was a great game and also nice to get the oppurtunity to spend some time with you guys in person.
