Got me a new book that given me a bit of inspiration to go back to finland 1808. The book inquestion are "Finska Kriget 1808-1809" by
Major General C.O. Nordensvan published in 1898. The 488 pages are a good re-cap of the Finnish War with lots of pictures maps and OOB´s, but unfortunate for most of you only in Swedish.
Anyway it got me to start re-basing the minis I had on round bases, as I feelt the need to go a bit bigger than big-skirmish that I have been in to for the last 5-6 years and I also have a urge to play some Black Powder again, havent even tried the 2.0 version.
Below some pictures from the book.
That's a great book Michael and both the cover and illustrations are superb. BPII is a much better book and the tweaks to the rules give a much better game.

"Square Bases!" new rules ;-) Bigger than R&P but smaller than BP.
ReplyDeleteThere is another great book on the period by a Norwegian with loads of inspiring illustrations in colour and black and white. It is about the Norwegian Swedish conflict. Your book is terrific and I look forward to seeing where your project takes you...
