Stockholm 1392 model at the Letchworth Showcase 2015

Just wanted to give you a heads-up if your are closeby Letchworth on sunday 18th October 2015 as the Stockholm 1392 Terrain that Jan built and the minis I painted for our Salute game will be shown at the Showcase 2015 run by Letchworth Scale Model Club at the Broadway Hotel,

Jan will be there to show the model that he have worked some more on, added details etc and his matey Peter will probably run one of the scenarios from our Stockholm 1392 article in Wargames Soldiers and Strategy Issu 80. don´t know if it will be a demo or participation game, but Jan´s model in it´s self are well worth a visit in my mind as wll as talking to Jan about swedish history and terrain building, in swedish if you prefere;)

I didn´t find much info on the Letchworth Scale Model Club about the event, but they might have more info somewhere on their page.

I did find some more info at the Letchworth Event page.

Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy 80

I hope you all have ordered a copy of the Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy Issu 80, released on 1st september. As you will find My and Jan´s Stockholm 1392 article about our demo game at Salute 2015. You will get a short historical background and the 4 scenarios that we run during the day using the Lion Rampant rules.

From the WSS page:

Feature: Michael and Jan, "The Victial brothers at Stockholm, 1392 - God's 'friend', the world's enemy"

One night in June 1392, screams from tortured prisoners could be heard across Stockholm. around 70 Swedish burghers had been captured by their German neighbours and their henchmen, the Victual Brothers. They were tied up and taken across to Käpplingeholmen, a small island close to the town. There they were held prisoner in an old wooden building, which was finally set on fire, killing all of them. This was the culmination of a longstanding conflict between the two factions over the control of Stockholm.

I hope it will inspire you to some good gaming :)

Scratch-built Medieval Cog

My friend Jan are also building a new Cog from scratch, so this is NOT the Svezda cog kit but Jan's own build, mighty impressive I think.

Stockholm 1392 Pictures

So have I taken the time to fix the pictuer from our Stockholm 1392 game at salute 2015 , its mine and pictures Colin took during the day, thanks Colin for sharing your pictures.

During the day we managed to run 4 gaming sessions, I had made 4 different scenarios revolving around the event that took place in Stockholm during a summer week in 1392, and we managed to run them all.

We did total up the glory each side got during each game, Mecklenburders(Germans) and the Swedes.

Won´t provide any AAR just the pictures from our day at salute and of Jan´s stunning terrain that we fixed the last painting on just before the visitores entered the show...
