ReplyDeleteOne thing...in Alf Åbergs book, he mentions a guy named Per Gunnarson Rambo. I mean...with a Rambo on their side, how did Sweden ever lose? :)
Fun fact: Rambo is old-fashioned Swedish for Raven's nest or mountain. From Ram(n) meaning raven and bo meaning either nest or dialectal for mountain.
DeleteThat Rambo family is aparently still living and one of the oldest living Swedish American families.
Great stuff! Sweden's contribution to the fledgling US was valuable indeed.
