American Civil war minis for Rebels and Patriots

My 8mm playtest minis did work but sins I like 28mm I had to paint me some for the Playtesting of the Rebels and Patriots rules. My matey Jesper was working on some Union so I got me a box Perry Plastic Zouave minis and started on a Confederate force.

Ofcourse i painted them as Louisiana Tigers, it was harder than I thought to paint blue strips.... The box had 42 minis so I made me 3 units of 12 minis and a group of skirmishers of 6 minis (yes the drum count as a minis as I somehow was one minis short in the end...). The banner I used was the one included in the box.

These 42 minis will give me a small hard hitting 24 point Company for the Rebels and Patriots rules, at least if I give them some optional upgrdes...

  1. Very nice work and good looking unit. Southern Zoaves, that's news to me. Might paint platoon for me too!

  2. Nice work Michael I am hoping my current acw basing will work when the rules come out. I might paint a few singles up as extras🙂

  3. Wonderful work Michael. I don't think I could paint strips now, assuming I could have in the past!

  4. I have a box of Zouaves waiting to be paintwd as Wheat's Tigers. They have been waiting for the right rules to come along. Guess I don't have an excuse now...!

  6. The Zouves look fantastic!

I can't tell you how excited I am for Rebels and Patriots - I have a lot of minis I can already use (and a lot that will finally get painted so I can use them as well!).

  7. Great unit to start with. Too bad their distinctive uniforms didn't last long. From what I've read, by the Valley campaign they were being issued plain 'ol gray.
