Medieval King
I have also continued to paint my Swedish Crusaders, This time the Swedish King to lead his Crusade with his Hird and some casualties in the front.
I wanted the king to look a bit like St Olof so I gave him a big axe like St Olaf are depicted on several church paintings here in Sweden.

Great figures,I particularly like St Olof. One of my memories of visiting denmark was the beautiful wall paintings on white walled churches. Your picture reminds me of them.
ReplyDeleteLovely stuff and that is one big axe!
ReplyDeleteThat is one brutal axe. Fit for a King. Dock you remember where the miniature is from?
ReplyDeleteA real man feed a big axe :)
DeleteThe mini are from Black Tree miniatures.

ReplyDeleteLovely work Michael and another fine example of your multiple basing.
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed Michael! Though I wonder if he could ever swing that axe ... ;)
ReplyDeleteI really like the casualties sprinkled about also.
That's a whopper of a chopper. Great looking figures.
ReplyDeleteNasty looking axe Michael! Very impressive figures just the same.

Superb!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really big axe! Fantastic painting work!
ReplyDeleteA king worthy to grace any table or the top shelf of the glass cabinet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looking little men! Absolutely inspiring.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. The colours are really vibrant and the flag is fantastic. With that giant axe, your king doesn't need a royal executioner!
ReplyDeleteAwesome painting and banner. I love your work Michael!
ReplyDeleteAce! That banner is just pure eye candy.
ReplyDeleteNicely done . I always like the color combinations you choose.
